All train on Sunday's at 11:45am to 12:45pm.

Mites League is a cross ice development grade for 4-7 year old boys and girls.

EQUIPMENT

We provide all equipment needed including skates on a loan basis until you are ready to purchase your own equipment and skates. Each skater is required to wear hockey gear when on the ice.

COACHING

The ice rink and club provide a coach to assist the skaters

FEE

The cost is $15 at the door and this includes all the equipment, skates, 60min on ice coaching.

Skate School

Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink offers a learn to skate program which is the best way to help all players of any age with the skills needed to be able to skate.

CLASSES

Skate School runs every Saturday 10:30am and Monday 4:15pm.  

COST

$18 this includes a half hour group lesson along with a 30 minute practice before or after the lesson depending on which class you are in.  This also includes skate hire.

KEY POINTS

  • The classes are run by professional accredited and experienced skating instructors.

  • Lessons are on a casual basis, with no bookings required and pay as you go.

  • You can join the Skate School at any time of the year.

Hockey Development

WHEN

Saturday at 12:45pm to 2pm

EQUIPMENT

We provide all equipment needed including skates on a loan basis until you are ready to purchase your own equipment and skates. Each skater is required to wear hockey gear when on the ice.

COST

$18 payment at the door.  This includes ice hockey instruction in a group lesson from Canterbury Ice Hockey Club accredited and experienced instructors.

LEVEL & AGE

From beginner to intermediate ages 8 years to adult.

Want to Join a Team?

TRAIN WITH A TEAM

Join our team training as a development player. This is a great way to build skills and find out more about playing hockey. To build skills, you will probably also need to be attending learn-to-play or hockey development. Skate school is another great way to build skating skills. Again, email us!

 

PLAY ON A TEAM

We have teams for all age groups.

Details about our Mites team is above. Other details are on the “Teams” page.

Try-outs are usually held in February each year. Dates and times will be on the website.

Scrimmage

We do have scrimmage from time to time, along with social games.  Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for announcements.
